Lenka Koppova: 40 Digital Women to Watch 2020: Where Are They Now?

At the start of 2020, the Digital Women community was lucky enough to celebrate some of the most talented and inspirational women in digital at a fantastic in-person event. To recognise the ongoing outstanding achievements of our community, we compiled Digital Women’s 40 Digital Women to Watch list. Among the list: Lenka Koppova, Social Media Strategist and Founder of Cambridge Social Media, helping freelancers, small business owners and entrepreneurs navigate the world of social media. We’ve brought her back for this ‘40 Digital Women To Watch 2020: Where Are They Now?’ blog series to share her incredible insights and experience of being a part of the Digital Women community. Hopefully, she’ll also inspire you to enter yourself or nominate a fellow woman for the Digital Women Awards 2021!
Congratulations for being named one of Digital Women’s Top 40 Women to Watch last year, Lenka! Did you share the news with your community?
Absolutely! Definitely on my LinkedIn and Facebook page. I currently don’t feature it anywhere as my website is under construction – but it’ll be featured in my new About section!
How has your business improved since being featured as a Digital Woman to Watch in 2020?
It’s been wonderful to be featured and highlighted as a Digital Woman to Watch last year (especially given how challenging 2020 was). It helped me boost my profile as a community leader and an expert in my area. I’ve met many amazing people and built new, strong relationships thanks to the Digital Women Awards. It mainly had an impact on my own self-perception and gave me a much-needed confidence boost!
Yes…2020 turned out to be far more challenging than anticipated! How did the changing role of digital and tech-based businesses and the sudden increased reliance on digital last year affect you and your business?
My business and our community resources and support have been more in demand than ever. The quick shift towards digital and social meant a lot more confused people not knowing where to start and how to stop feeling overwhelmed by social media marketing and its constant changes. That’s where our community of experts, regular events and constantly growing bank of resources played a crucial role!
Do you have any advice for women who are considering entering themselves or nominating others for the Digital Women Awards 2021?
Do it! You deserve it!
No matter how old or new your business is, where you are on your career journey or if you’ve been smashing it lately or barely survived the last year. You should be proud of what you’ve achieved and share your journey, successes and achievements with others!
Are there any names that spring to mind that you think we should be watching out for 2021?
Thana Asaad – a badass social media expert with a deep understanding of everything digital and social, attention to detail and focus on community building and nourishing engagement.
Thanks, Lenka! And finally (we have to ask), what’s your favourite thing about the Digital Women community?
The overwhelmingly positive support and open hearts of all the members. No matter if you’re new or if you’ve been part of the community for a while, you’ll always feel welcomed, appreciated and supported by others.
