Hollie Whittles: 40 Digital Women to Watch 2020: Where Are They Now?

At the start of 2020, we were lucky enough to celebrate some of the most talented and inspirational women in digital at a fantastic in-person event. To recognise the ongoing outstanding achievements of our winners, we compiled Digital Women’s 40 Digital Women to Watch list. Among the names: Hollie Whittles, the Director of Purple Frog Systems, a business intelligence consultancy. In 2018, Hollie was awarded a certificate of recognition from the British Computer Society for her work in the UK digital industry and was also a Woman’s Who award winner. We’ve brought her back for this ‘40 Digital Women To Watch 2020: Where Are They Now?’ blog series to share her incredible insights and hear how being among Digital Women’s 40 Digital Women to Watch has impacted her over the last year. Hopefully, we’ll also inspire you to enter yourself or nominate a fellow incredible woman for the Digital Women Awards this year!
Being a Top 40 Digital Woman to Watch is a huge achievement! Did you share the news with your community/customers?
Yes on all social media channels; Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. I also use it on my speaker bio and my email signature!
How has your online profile and business improved since being featured as a Top 40 Digital Woman to Watch?
Being nominated as a Digital Woman to Watch has definitely raised my online profile and it was great to connect with the Digital Women [community] online to further enhance my business network. I love seeing what people get up to and following their journeys on social media!
2020 has been an unpredictable year and the sudden increased reliance on digital has been hugely impactful. How did the changing role of digital and tech-based businesses and this sudden increased reliance on digital affect you and your business last year?
As I was already in the digital world, I had a lot of tech processes already established which made it easier to adapt to the changing business climate. However, last year was certainly a challenge and we’re not out of the woods yet!
Do you have any advice for women who are considering entering themselves or nominating others for the Digital Women Awards?
100 percent you must enter the Digital Women Awards. It’s amazing to connect with like-minded people and also it is something positive to look forward to and be proud of.
Are there any names that spring to mind that you think we should be watching out for 2021?
Including myself? 😉 (Of course, Hollie!)…Too many to list – follow everyone in Digital Women!
And finally, what is your favourite thing about the Digital Women community?
It’s a safe online community where you can build rapport, trust, knowledge and so much more.
