In this interview, Hollie shares her insights on the future of technology and Artificial Intelligence, as well as her predictions for the next 12 months in the digital and tech industry.
Q: Can you tell us a little about your background and how you got into the tech industry?
A: My passion for technology started at a young age. I’ve always been interested in how technology can improve people’s lives and make things easier for businesses. After studying computer science at university, I began working in tech start-ups and eventually started my own companies, FraggleWorks and Purple Frog Systems.
Q: You’re giving a talk at the Digital Women event on the topic of “The future of tech, will AI take over?”. Can you give us a sneak peek of what you’ll be discussing?
A: My talk will focus on the current state of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and where it’s heading in the future. I’ll be discussing how AI is already being used across various industries to improve existing processes and develop new solutions. I’ll also be exploring the potential risks and concerns surrounding the increasing use of AI, such as the possibility of robots taking over jobs.
Q: What’s the most exciting thing you’ve seen or experienced in digital/tech over the last 12 months?
A: The most exciting thing I’ve seen in the last 12 months is the use of machine learning models to empower our clients and help them leverage marketing opportunities and scale their businesses. It’s amazing to see the positive impact that technology can have on a company’s growth and success.
Q: What are your predictions for the next 12 months in digital/tech?
A: I predict that we’ll see a greater use of AI and IoT (Internet of Things) across all sectors in the next 12 months, with a focus on improving quality of life through better use of data analytics. For example, I believe we’ll see more organisations using technology to achieve net zero emissions.
Q: What challenges do you feel you may be facing in the coming years with your role/business?
A: One of the biggest challenges I see is the recruitment of people with the right digital skills. As technology continues to evolve, it’s becoming increasingly important to have a workforce with the latest knowledge and expertise. Additionally, I believe that encouraging businesses to utilize emerging technologies will also be a challenge.
Q: What do you love about Digital Women events?
A: I love the sense of community and learning that comes with Digital Women events. It’s inspiring to connect with other women in the industry and hear about their experiences and achievements.
